Woodsy

So I found two wooden necklaces at Savers over the weekend. One smooth and split in slices and the other in rounded wooden pebbles. They both have proved to be quite useful in repurposing them into necklaces to sell for my upcoming show. I say show but what I really mean is a small town art/craft/old lady fair. Which is sometimes the best. After selling at huge shows out west, I kinda like having neighbors at my "shows" that aren't trying to outdo me or be cooler then cool, they instead could very well be the parents and grandparents of my students in town. I am making a name for myself here and I love that small town feeling that you get when everyone knows your name. I do miss the big city and LA in particular. But here is to new adventures in the art world. Small and even smaller.

Sultry Audrey

I have been in love and in awe of Audrey Hepburn since I saw her in .... mmmm what did I see her in first? I have to say it was either Sabrina or Breakfast at Tiffanys, but either way she has been a role model of sorts for me... now I am NOT saying I am like her. I dont think girls in this day and age can and could be that classy no matter how hard we tried. But I love her style, grace, and overall awesomeness. Out of all the photos I have and have seen of her this one is a newby to me. And I have never really seen her look this way... Sultry. Usually she has this angelic look to her, even when shopping with her deer Pipin, this pic and look is new and fresh to me and I love that I keep finding her just as inspiring as I did in junior high.

Seriously? Free people?! I love your style, aesthetic, and feel. Flannel, sequins, tassels, ripped fabric... yep I say, YES! I love you and your ideas. I will do this in a few days time and I have all of this around the house... canvas, fabric up the wah zoo, hot glue, a sewing machine and I am just I would round up some glitter and glitz. Maybe I will have to submit these to the gallery here in town if they turn out the way I see them in my head. All I can think about is that someone at these Free People store will be lucky enough to take these home when the season is over! Urgh, I miss working for this company!

God I am Frickin Thrifty

Belt by Emersonmade... I am envious of her and I know I shouldn't be. If I had money to spend on quality clothes and accessories I would have her lines in my closet. But I don't... I am proud of my thriftyness darnit! This belt on her website is $49
I scored mine for $6.80

My Kind of Girl

This portrait found on Tush Tush on Etsy, http://www.etsy.com/shop/tushtush, fits perfectly of the feeling and style I am going for lately. Braids, tights, and slightly baggy fits. I need a pair of Wellies and a fishing pole and a mild summer. Something that does not exsist in Las Vegas.

I am obsessed with the blog A Cup of Jo, http://joannagoddard.blogspot.com/, and I have found so much inspiration there. How come my blog doesn't have over 20,000 followers!? Huh?! Why?! I have stuff to say! And by the way can I live on a farm and wear a full length sequin skirt? So many questions to be answered.....
