So this is what that inspiration turned into. It may look kooky but I have gotten some positive response to them. I love them... if I do say so myself.
The first image is a finished piece but the second was taken when I was about half way done.

Missoni Masterpieces

Oh my gawd! Missoni at affordable prices... blocks from my house. I am so so excited about this.

What a perfect time for these pieces to come out. Fall and the colors and knits of Missoni. I just hope that there is some left on the shelf and racks for me. I am hoping that the people of Hudson are less savvy to Missoni then I am. That way when I get my pick I can always come back and get the clearance everyone pasted up!

Stillwaters

The projects for Taste of Stillwater are coming along and I am managing to stay organized among all the other things happening here, moving, packing and making sure I am not packing away things that I need for the show or to finish for the show. I have already had to dig around in taped up boxes... not happening again. So silhouettes on fabric covered canvases, spray painted stencils and more silhouettes on canvas pillow covers. I am excited to see how these sell. On to the next project to fill up the space, reupholstered footstools and chairs!

A little Re-do

Just a couple of little re-dos around the house. Just two little useless things that I should have put to the side knowing that I have a huge show coming up and two this summer to plan for. But no this is what I did on Friday night.... ummm ok. You weird procrastinating art girl.
This was a thrift find and I love it. Someone really took the time to make this unique picture of an old mill...out of tiny little beads!!! How strange, or maybe a machine did it, I really don't know much about it. It is a mystery. And above are two frames from Marybeth that I used for these great prints from Etsy. I could not find oval mats for the girls so I made some using leftover fabrics and some patience. I am really bad at math and measuring things out.

Shake It like a Polaroid

There is something about a Polaroid picture. Ok so the song is catchy, but the feel of them, the weight. The stained edges, the marker labeling them on the fat end where your thumb went as you held and shook. Now a days there are apps and cute little business sized instant film cameras. I use both and I have to say.... everything and everyone looks a bit better to me through a Polaroid. I think the old soul in all of us comes out to play.
